1. About naamsa

naamsa | The Automotive Business Council is the representative body for the South African automotive industry, championing growth, innovation, and transformation in the sector. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager: Transformation to support the industry in navigating the evolving Transformation legislative landscape and managing industry-wide interventions aligned with national policy frameworks.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance to the automotive industry on Transformation legislation, including BBBEE, employment equity, and skills development policies.
  • Monitor and interpret policy changes, advising stakeholders on compliance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Engage with government bodies, industry associations, and relevant stakeholders to advocate for balanced and sustainable transformation policies.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee industry transformation programmes, ensuring legislative expectations align.
  • Facilitate collaboration among Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers, and key industry players to drive transformation initiatives. This include the coordination of the internal naamsa Transformation Committee and the EOC on Transformation.
  • Lead research, reporting, and data analysis on transformation performance within the industry.
  • Represent naamsa in industry forums, working groups, and policy discussions related to transformation.

3. Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Law, or a related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Transformation, BBBEE compliance, policy advocacy, or related roles within the automotive or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong understanding of South African transformation legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry charters.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders, including government and corporate leadership.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to drive impactful transformation initiatives.
