The automotive industry’s premium networking and thought leadership conference will be launched at the South African Auto Week in October 2022, as part of the country’s Transport Month activities. For the first time in the history of the industry in Africa, naamsa | the Automotive Business Council will be bringing the world’s industry giants to South Africa for futuristic and ground- breaking discussions and potential business opportunities. We will host the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers [OICA] General Assembly and its Council meeting in Johannesburg during the SA Auto Week.
The SA Auto Week is a platform where participants will gain access to the entire automotive value chain under one roof as we attract global vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturers [OEMs], vehicle component manufacturers and suppliers; regulators and policy makers; international investors; high-profile company executives and decision- makers; and pan-African auto leaders.
The event will have several activities including an inventive 3-day Auto Thought Leadership Indaba that will focus on key topical industry themes important for the industry and for the African continent alike. The conference will the themed: REIMAGINING THE FUTURE TOGETHER | “The Rise of the African Auto Industry: investing in new energy vehicles, infrastructure, and people”.
Supported by innovative virtual conferencing platforms, the SA Auto Week will physically bring together industry thought leaders from local, regional, continental and global business and government institutions, to consolidate efforts that will compellingly drive the transition to new energy vehicles and smarter technologies.
The hybrid conference will bring to life global public policy discussions and help shape and influence future mobility solutions not only for South Africa, but for other markets around the world. Highly effective networking and interaction opportunities will be activated during this event to ensure that the most relevant stakeholders connect with each other and that decisions that would meaningfully transform the industry are discussed, considered and implemented.
The SA Auto Week will convincingly pay attention to the automotive latest technologies, policies currently under consideration, case studies and globally benchmarked business models to better understand the impact on the future of the industry, the future of work, the environment, and the economy to ensure that the right decisions are made to support South Africa’s recovery and economic growth ambitions.
The SA Auto Week will be activated at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit and International Convention Centre, Gauteng Province.
