Shoprite Mobile Soup Kitchen

UDTSA joined Shoprite in their Mobile Soup Kitchen initiative to feed local communities in areas where hardship and hunger is an every day issue.

 

The company started the sponsorship with 5 UD trucks, more than 6 years ago, with the original UD40s still running to this day.

 

Shoprite now have a total of 25 Soup kitchen vehicles that have delivered 462 123 394 meals year-to-date and around 462 440 meals per month currently.

 

UDTSA further supported this initiative by donating two new Croner H40 chassis, with a total value of around R1m, and will continue to deliver back-up and support to Shoprite in feeding the hungry in South Africa.
