All-New Nissan Navara rolls off the Nissan South Africa Manufacturing Plant

The first Nissan Navara vehicles to be manufactured in Africa by Africans have begun rolling off the Nissan South Africa Manufacturing Plant in Rosslyn, to South Africa and the rest of Africa. “This is a significant day for Nissan Africa” said Mike Whitfield, Nissan Africa Regional Business Unit Managing Director. “3 years ago, Nissan pledged a R3-billion investment into South Africa’s economy and today we are meeting that commitment!”  “This first Navara built in our Rosslyn plant is a significant milestone in the Navara journey.

It speaks to Nissan’s long-term commitment to Africa, together with the many men and women who have worked passionately on the project, ensuring that we build the iconic Navara within Nissan’s global quality standards,” said Shafick Solomons, Nissan South Africa Manufacturing Director.   Kabelo Rabotho, Nissan South Africa Country Director said that COVID-19 had been a major disruption, but Nissan employees had been more than up for the challenge.

“I am proud of the resilience that our employees have shown, enduring many challenges under unprecedented conditions to locally produce the Navara in our world-class production facility, ” said Rabotho.
